2024 World Bowls Junior Indoor Championship: Day 3 recap
There was a focus on the men’s and women’s singles on day three of the 2024 World Bowls Junior Indoor Championships in Hong Kong, with the mixed pairs matches taking a break.
Capalaba’s Kane Nelson continued his undefeated run from his sole singles game for the day, following a bye in round 3.
The Queenslander was never troubled in his matchup with Canada’s Owen Kirby, only letting his opponent score on four ends for the entire match and running out as a 12-3 10-2 victor.
Nelson sits in second position in his section with games left against England’s Aaron Johnson, Singapore’s Harriman Yuen and Hong Kong China’s Man Pok Chung.
Unfortunately the day wasn’t as successful for Club Tweed’s Kira Bourke, going down 4-7 4-8 to Hong Kong China’s Abbie Chan and falling agonisingly short against Thailand’s Kwanluck Leshngimphokanok 11-3 4-8 1-4.
The Right at Home Emerging Jackaroo will face Wales’ Lauren Marie Gowen, Norfolk Island’s Ellie Grace Dixon and Hong Kong China’s Emily Chan in her remaining singles matches.
